Bowler’s Performance During The Middle-overs
With the new ball there is no doubt that the Pakistani pacers have done well in Asia Cup matches that have been played so far. However, the entire bowling unit has looked flat with the semi-old ball and during the middle-overs of an innings. Both against India and Bangladesh the green shirts gave away far too many runs after getting rid of the top four in quick succession. This weakness definitely needs to be addressed before Pakistan meets teams like England, Australia and New Zealand during the ICC ODI World Cup.

Babar Azam’s Captaincy
It is just not the bowlers but even Babar Azam’s captaincy that has looked ordinary during the middle-overs. Watching Babar it seems obvious that he stubbornly wants to execute whatever plans he has made prior to the start of an innings and that he is unwilling to change his strategy even if there is a requirement for it. The coaching staff definitely needs to have a word with the Pakistani skipper so that he is able to realize the significance of altering his plans as per the requirement of a given situation.

#AsiaCup2023: Should Fakhar Zaman Be Pakistan’s First Choice Opener During The #ODIWC23?
Fakhar Zaman has been in horrible form for a while now and so, Pakistan has little choice but to try either Abdullah Shafique or Mohd. Haris during the next match against India. Still regardless of who they pick, there is a definite need to find a reliable opener to partner Imam-ul-Haq during the mega ICC event.
