Maulana Fazlur Rehamn created quite an uproar in Pakistan’s political landscape when he announced that his party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) will stage a protest on 27 October against PTI’s government.

Instructions for the participants

But it just did not end there. On Monday a document which was said to have been issued by the information department of JUI-F went viral, creating a lot of stir on social media.

The document had all the guidelines that participants of the sit-in would have to abide by.

There were a total of 10 instructions but the sixth one stood out for its absurdity and started trending on Twitter. The sixth bullet read, “People would have to refrain from (engaging in) sodomy without the permission of their emir (leader).”

Was the document fake?

JUI-F’s central secretary general Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri strongly denied that his party had released that document. He accused PTI, saying that they were behind the forged viral version aimed at sabotaging their plans for the long march.

Another fake document?

Another document which was said to have been issued by the office of the Islamabad district magistrate also started making rounds. The document stated that the Islamabad City Police had received several complaints about citizens expressing concern about “a wave of homosexuality in a political gathering planned on 27th October.”

It further said that homosexuality is strictly prohibited in Islam and workers of the political party are advised to refrain from such sinful deed.

However, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat in a tweet termed the document fake.

And just when we thought that things have settling down…

…Amir Liaquat and Gul Bukhari started fighting on another fake document posted – this time – by Amir Liaquat himself on Twitter.

Gul Bukhari called Amir Liaquat by his famous name, “Mr. Kaisa Diya and termed the document fake.

Amir Liaquat replied in a sarcastic tone, “Kaise diya” and impertinently said, “Gul Bikoli Aam Khaeygi Aam?”

He further said that he used the word, “alleged” and it was Gul Bukhari’s fault that she could not understand that.

Amir Liaquat then deleted his original tweet.

Gul Bukhari called him out for doing that, labelling him a “pitiable specimen.”

The Twitter fight between Amir Liaquat and Gul Bukhari did not seem to end at all.

Amir Liaquat called Bukhari a “Watan Farosh” (traitor), stating that she was making a big deal out of an insignificant matter.

Gul Bukhari seemed to think that Amir Liaquat was spewing illogical gibberish because he had not taken his medicine.

Amir Liaquat then resorted to bad mouthing and called Gul different names, totally throwing manners out of the window.

It was indeed a very small matter; a matter which should not have resulted in two adults calling names and acting like 4-year-olds.

It is just sad to see so many Pakistanis with huge following resorting to such irresponsible banter.
