#MeToo: Sexual Harassment Allegations Rejected By Ali Zafar’s Witnesses In Affidavits!

Following the Supreme Court permission to conduct joint cross-examination, Ali Zafar’s witnesses recorded their statement in the affidavits submitted to the court. The decree came after Meesha Shafi moved her application to the Supreme Court on the account of not being allowed to conduct joint statement and joint cross-examination of the witnesses by the Lahore High court (LHC).

On the 14th of May, the SC bench gave Meesha Shafi’s lawyer the permission to record a joint statement and conduct joint cross-examination of Ali Zafar’s witnesses and that too in seperate hearings.

In this regard, 7 witnesses were produced by Ali Zafar yesterday that included Asad Ahmed (guitarist), Aqsa Ali (backing vocalist), Joshua Keith (keyboard player), Muhammad Taqi (saxophone player), Kashif Chaman (percussionist), Muhammad Ali (bass player), and Qaisar Zain (drummer).

In the affidavits submitted by Zafar’s side, all the witnesses rejected harassment allegations made by Meesha, further stating that all eyes were on the two singers and they didn’t see any such incident of the sorts.

The court has set May 29th as the date for joint cross-examination as requested by Meesha’s lawyers.

Last year, around the same time, Meesha Shafi had accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment on Twitter, only to be joined by several other women who had the same ordeal to share against the Pakistani actor.

As a response, Zafar had denied all the allegations and filed a defamation case against Shafi. Since then both the celebrities have made it to headlines because of the case, time and again.

After being dismissed by LHC, the case was taken to the SC last month where the trial is still underway and is expected to conclude within three months.
