The green shirts and the Caribbeans are all set to lock horns tomorrow during the second match of the ICC world cup. Hence, here is a look at Pakistan’s possible XI against the West Indies in what is supposed to be the first world cup game for both sides who are known for their unpredictability on the field.
Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq have both shown form during the recently concluded series against England. Thus, it is understood that both will open for Pakistan as long as the two of them are fit.
Pakistan’s best batsman Babar Azam is almost certain to bat at three, while Mohd. Hafeez and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed are likely to bat at numbers 4 and 5. At number six is a tie between Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali. However, the later owing to better recent form seems to be the favorite for now.
All-rounders Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan besides leading the spin bowling department during the game are also expected to bat at numbers 7 and 8.
While Hasan Ali is almost certain to play tomorrow media reports suggest that Mohd. Amir has requested rest to recover fully and hence, Mohd. Hasnain might play instead. Wahab Riaz then is likely to be the third fast bowler and in all probability should be preferred over out of form Shaheen Afridi.
