First #PakvsEng T20 was played in Karachi while the inaugural #INDvsAUS T20 of the series was played in Mohali yesterday. Karachi produced a low scoring game however, in Mohali there was a run feast of sorts. Both home sides batted first but lost to superior opponents from the west. Both India and Pakistan entered the #AsiaCup2022 as clear favorites. However, it was Sri Lanka who turned out to be the eventual winners. The disappointment of loss in a high intensity tournament is still visible in the way both South Asian countries played yesterday. India’s death bowling and Pakistan’s middle-order have been a source of concern for long. The apparent weakness of both sides was exploited well by the visitors. Pakistan selected an additional fast bowler on a track that was better suited to spin bowling while India once again made too many changes to their playing XI. It is about time think-tanks of both sides get their selection right otherwise both BCCI and PCB might as well have little choice but to think seriously of bringing in new people to lead their respective dugouts.
