Pakistan cricket for reasons that are obvious and evident to everybody by now seems to have flourished under the leadership of Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi. Therefore, I personally feel that it is high time that fans for the sake of the game’s future in the country keep their political affiliations aside while judging the gentleman’s tenure that this far has been extremely successful.

Here is a look at how Najam Sethi has had a positive impact ever since he got involved in PCB and why he deserves respect for his achievements.
Pakistan Super LeagueÂ
Following three successful editions Pakistan Super League (PSL) has now become a brand to reckon with both at the national and at the international level. It is no secret that Najam Sethi has played an extremely crucial role in bringing the entire idea of Pakistan having its own T20 league to life. Hence, it makes no sense to enjoy what the tournament offers and yet not appreciate the man who really is the force behind the colorful annual event.
Bringing International Cricket Back
Despite all sorts of hurdles and criticisms, Najam Sethi and his team at PCB proceeded with their plan of organizing the PSL 2 final in Lahore last year. Within a year that game has led to three international tours in the country.

To say the least, the Chairman certainly deserves respect for his vision and for playing a massive role in taking Pakistan cricket to the point where PCB is at least in a better position now to negotiate with the big boys of the game who still might take a little more time before they provide their consent to tour Pakistan.
Revival of a Test Center Outside of Lahore
With Lahore no longer a feasible option for cricketing activity during winters because of smog; revival of international cricket in National Stadium, Karachi in many ways opens the door for more tours in the days to come.

PCB Chairman’s vision and contributions ever since he has become part of PCB without a shadow of doubt have been phenomenal for cricket in Pakistan. Therefore, it is alright if you choose to differ with some of his political views the same way I do. Still, let’s just be fair to the gentleman and let’s not deny him the credit that he richly deserves!
