Pakistani pacer Junaid Khan it seems is still not over his world cup omission. Hence, he has a thing or two to say every second day about the entire episode. So, here is a look at why Junaid should stop crying foul and move on!

Concerns Over His Fitness
During the last four years or so, Junaid has missed out on a lot of cricket owing to injury concerns. It is for this reason that on more than one occasion he lost his place in a given format, weeks after consolidating his position as an important member of the squad.
Moreover, his fielding too seems to have suffered because of regular layoffs; something that was more than visible just before the world cup during the ODIs against England. Junaid then should focus on raising his fitness standards rather than reaching out to press every second day to express his dismay over the sort of treatment he has been receiving from the selectors. I mean what else does he expect if despite years of experience he can’t look after his fitness!

A String Of Ordinary Performances
Junaid did not do too well during the PSL earlier this year. Still, he was given a proper opportunity to prove himself during the ODI series against Australia and England. Again, he had failed to impress and not even for a second did he really look threatening.
He was preferred over Usman Shinwari in the initial world cup squad which perhaps was a bad decision anyway. Without good performances there is no way he would have made it to the final 15 and hence, he didn’t.
Junaid then needs to get a life and work hard on his form and fitness if he really wants to (a) stage a successful comeback and (b) sustain his position in the squad for a reasonable period of time.

Needs to Stop Offending PCB
Junaid through his interviews is actually putting himself at risk of offending people who matter in PCB. The strategy then is of no use. The left-arm quick needs to rethink his tactics, for sure. Towards the end of the day Junaid Khan will only get to play again if he is fit and in good form and not because he knows how to criticize PCB.
