World Economic Forum Ranks Pakistan Among Top Countries For Providing Excellent ICT Services

Recently, the World Economic Forum (WEF) ranked Pakistan among the top countries for providing affordable ICT services.

Ministry of IT and Telecom took to Twitter to document the achievements of Pakistan for showing rapid improvements in the tech industry.

Pakistan’s IT industry is among the top 5 net exporters with the highest net exports in the services industries, MoITT wrote.

IT Minister Syed Aminul Haq while addressing the certificate distribution ceremony of GSMA Innovation Fund for Mobile Internet Adoption and Digital Inclusion on Wednesday communicated that IT and telecom industry in Pakistan is committed to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Pakistan.

He also thanked Global System for Mobile Communications (GSMA) for its efforts in revolutionizing the field of telecom in Pakistan so much that it is now being recognized all over the world.

IT Minister also added that steps were being taken to provide best 3G and 4G services across the country since today is the day and age of the internet.

Given the dedication and brilliant performance of the IT industry, Pakistan managed to secure 4th position in Global freelance industry for providing excellent technical resources in various tech fields.

Virtually speaking on the occasion, GSMA Head of Asia Pacific, Julian Gorman said,

Digital technologies were set to transform the way people live and work in Pakistan. As we saw in the GSMA 2020 Digital Societies Report, which tracks the progress of 11 focus countries in Asia Pacific, Pakistan is advancing its societal, economic and digital ambition, as outlined in Digital Pakistan Vision, Express Tribune reported.

Pakistan also managed to achieve one more milestone in the tech industry. The International telecommunication union (ITU) announced National Incubation Center’s project ‘Ignite’ as one of the champion of projects of its environment category. This was announced at the World Summit on the Information Society Prizes 2021.
