Two cases have surfaced after the recent Student Solidarity March that have created an uproar on social media. One being the abduction of a student, Dua Nisar Mangi and the other being sedition charges against the father of Mashal Khan.

On Friday, students from different universities took to the streets to record their protest in the form of Student Solidarity March as they demanded the restoration of student unions that have been banned since 1984. People from different walks of life joined the march supporting the cause.

Soon after the March took place there was news that an active participant, Dua Nisar Mangi, had been abducted.

Dua’s sister took to social media to announce the news and requested fellow netizens to help her spread the word.

Dua was at a dhaba named Chai Master Bukhari with her friend, Haris Fateh when the incident happened. Her friend who was shot in the neck by the kidnappers.

Ever since the news broke, Pakistani social media has been in a state of agitated frenzy.

Zarnish Khan sent prayers for Dua’s safe return.

A distasteful troll was savagely snubbed for making light of Dua’s ordeal.

Overwhelmed by public pressure, Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah has ordered immediate recovery of Dua Mangi.

The second story following Friday’s Student Solidarity March that has left Pakistan bereaved is about Mashal Khan’s father, Iqbal Lala.

Iqbal Lala, father of Mashal Khan who was lynched by a mob over blasphemy allegations two years ago, has been named under sedition charges among 300 other participants of the March.

Jibran Nasir, called out the authorities for not providing him justice for his son and instead charging him for sedition for preaching peace.

As the news spread, many more joined in to condemn the charges against Iqbal Lala.

The simultaneous incidence of these two cases has left many Pakistanis deeply troubled.

There were no significant updates regarding either of the cases at the time of filing this story.
