As soon as the news of the police action became public Pakistanis from all walks of life took to various platforms to condemn the incident. This also forced the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to issue a statement expressing grief on the escalation of the situation and reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of the students.

On the flip side, those justifying the police action maintained that the students had no interest in the fee hike and the protest had instead been orchestrated by political parties belonging to the opposition.
I am not sure about whats going on in #PeshawarUniversity, opposition is saying that its all because of the increase in the annual tuition fee while the govt is saying “No” its all about the illegals & outsiders who are living in the Uni Hostels & we are only kicking them out. pic.twitter.com/iKEVndSzJj
