This statement did not in the least go down well with many people who felt it was an insult to the specially abled children and their caregivers.
Even fellow PTI leader and Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari stepped in to call out the provincial minister’s callous statement.
This is not the first time Fayyaz Chohan has stirred a controversy with his words.
He had faced scathing criticism for his indecent remarks against film and stage actresses last year.
He had then invited the ire of the Kashmiri community when he mocked Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif for their Kashmiri lineage.
The Minister was eventually forced to resign from his position as the provincial Information Minister after he had passed derogatory remarks against the Hindu community in 2019.

However, he was once again reinstated in December 2019. At the time it was widely reported that Chohan had both been sacked and then later reinstated on the prerogative of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
