Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are all set to lock horns in a legal battle in Dubai owing to the dispute between the two boards over an agreement that was signed in 2014. PCB is of the view that they were promised six bilateral series by BCCI when the agreement was penned in return for their support to the Big-3 formula. Hence, PCB believes that by not honoring the deal BCCI’s actions have resulted in financial loses that Pakistan cricket has had to bear with.
BCCI, on the other hand, argues that any series with Pakistan is subject to their government’s approval and therefore, an unfavorable response from the ruling party BJP has made it impossible for them to schedule a series with the South-Asian rival.
Following PCB’s notice International Cricket Council’s (ICC’s) Dispute Resolution Committee was formed that will now conduct the legal proceedings. So, here is a look at facts and possible repercussions from the much talked about legal battle between PCB & BCCI.

Possible Repercussions
Whatever decision is taken by the ICC’s Dispute Resolution Committee will be binding on both PCB and BCCI and hence, there are possible repercussions for stake-holders involved.
If BCCI goes onto lose the case then they will have little choice but to either pay a hefty fine or make arrangement for a series between the two neighboring countries that can compensate PCB’s losses.
A defeat for PCB is likely to put their newly elected chairman Ehsan Mani under enormous pressure. Moreover, a loss here is also likely to result in more financial losses for PCB as the probability of a lucrative bilateral series with the cash-rich BCCI will become even more difficult.
Nevertheless, do not be surprised if ICC eventually, comes up with a decision that leaves both parties fuming and yet allows them to claim victory when their representatives return home!
