Mehwish Hayat Slams Media Outlet For Spreading False Information That She’s Coronavirus Positive

In the past couple of weeks, many celebrities have fallen victim to the deadly and it is no surprise that now rumors are being spread about the well-being of many celebrities. Recently, Mehwish Hayat became victim of fake news that she is coronavirus positive.

Digital publication “Showbiz & News” claimed that the actress has tested positive for coronavirus.

The media outlet tweeted “#BreakingNews : Unofficial & unverified News are coming, Superstar and brilliant actress Mehwish Hayat has tested positive for coronavirus – Prayers for her.”

The news made her fans really worried about the health of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz laureate.

But The Load Wedding star was quick to rubbish the news and called out the publication for spreading fake news for the sake of likes and followers.

She wrote, “Not true!!! I just wish that our media would be more responsible and check their facts before posting such stories. Call me and check instead of posting anything you feel like for the sake of “followers” and “likes”. This has caused a great deal of distress to family and friends.”

She further asked the publication to take down the fake news.

“Please take this fake news down immediately,” she wrote.

It’s been 15 hours since the actress asked “Showbiz & News” to take this fake news down but they have not acted as of yet.
