In quite a surprising turn of events, a girl named Qandeel of “Student Model High School” in Mardan, made a new Pakistani record by scoring a perfect 1100 marks in her matriculation exams, leaving the whole nation stunned.
The girl is also Pakistan’s only female student who has managed to make the record. According to the chairman of the Mardan board of directors, Qandeel, the first position holder, is an orphan, whose father lost his life owing to cancer.
To recognize Qandeel’s talent, the board chairman additionally stated that all of her board fees will be reimbursed. She told the reporters that her achievements were the result of her teachers’ hard work and her mother’s prayers.
According to reports, 70,532 students, both male, and female appeared in the Mardan Education Board examinations, while 68,854 of them successfully cleared the exams.
As Qandeel’s achievement was both shocking and commendable, some of the social media users took to Twitter to congratulate the teenager on her victory.
However, there were many other netizens who were absolutely stupefied to learn about the same. They were shocked to know that dozens of students scored more than 1090 marks in their board exams as they questioned the education system of Pakistan.
Some of them even raised questions, saying how come a student got a perfect score in subjects like Urdu and Islamiat?
Meanwhile, others just couldn’t understand how on earth that happened!
Well, as Twitterati were up in arms against the counting errors and the problematic scoring, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department took immediate note of the incident. They constituted an eight-member committee on Wednesday to verify and reassess the exams of candidates who secured more than 1090 out of 1100 marks.
