Khadija Siddiqui Wins Legal Battle Against Shah Hussain

The Supreme Court of Pakistan overturned Lahore High Court’s acquittal of Shah Hussain and handed him seven years in prison for stabbing his class fellow, Khadija Siddiqui 23 times in 2016.
The verdict sent a wave of celebration across Pakistan with many taking to Twitter to congratulate Khadija for winning a battle that she had fought most bravely.

JIT Report Finally Exonerates Naqeeb Mehsud Of Terror Charges
The report of the inquiry commission in the Naqeeb Mehsud case submitted to an Anti-Trror Court (ATC) on Thursday stated that the murders of Naqeeb and three others were extrajudicial killings. The court quashed five cases of terror that had been falsely filed against Naqeeb.
As reported by Samaa News the JIT report led by AIG Aftab Pathan stated that the accused police officers were present at the farmhouse where the four men were murdered for 19 hours on the day the crime took place. The report further revealed that there was no evidence to prove that any of the four killed had fired at the police and that the weapons were placed in their hands after they had been slain.
Rao Anwar, who is the prime accused in the Naqeeb Ullah Mehsud case has been removed from his position as SSP Malir and he has been booked for the murders.
Sarfraz Ahmed’s Racist Comments Land Him in Trouble

During the ODI between Pakistan and South Africa, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was caught on stump mics passing comments that were perceived racist by the great majority of cricket fans in both the countries. The comments were directed towards South African all-rounder, Andile Phehlukwayo.

Sarfraz’s comments were met with anger by Pakistanis who took it upon themselves to apologize to the South African fans for their captain’s behaviour.
Sarfraz Ahmed was quick to issue an unconditional apology and also met with Phehlukwayo to apologize in person. The South African Cricket Board graciously released a statement forgiving Sarfraz.

Asad Umar Announced Mini Budget 2019 Amid Uproar in the Parliament

Amid name calling and uproar in the opposition benches, Minister of State for Finance announced the second mini budget in four months.
Umar urged the Parliament to see the proposed bill as a package of incentives to revive industrial activity in the country.

The minister’s budget speech proposed significant tax cuts for small and large businesses, outlined measures to reduce the cost of producing various consumer goods and advised increased taxation on the import of luxury vehicles.
