Former additional advocate general and Adeel’s close friend Shahbaz Ahmad Tatla had also been missing since February 7. An investigation was underway after his brother had lodged a case of his abduction at Naseerabad police station.

The SSP confessed to murdering Shahbaz Ahmad Tatla and made horrible revelations about his crime.

He told the police that he first strangled the law officer and then burnt his body in acid. An official told Dawn that as an experienced police officer, Adeel was well versed to escape the punishment by eliminating the solid evidence (body) of the murder in case he was arrested at any stage.

The police investigation revealed that they had told the owner that a delegation from abroad would reside there. However, in actual several parties were being held at the rented house.

Another suspect in the case appeared when the police started looking for clues after Adeel and Tatla disappeared. Asad Bhatti, their mutual friend, was detained by police who claimed that Adeel had strangled Tatla in the rented house. He confirmed that Adeel had dissolved Tatla’s body in a drum full of chemical.
