Here is a look at what each franchise must do to make it to the PSL 2020 qualifiers that are scheduled to be played next week.
Multan Sultans are on the top of the table with only two games left out of which one is likely to be washed out. Sultans have already qualified and are almost certain to have two bites of the cherry. A lack of match practice before the eliminator should then be their only concern and something they need to strategize in order to make it to the final of the prestigious event.
Peshawar Zalmi are scheduled to play their last match against Multan Sultans tomorrow. The franchise has nine points so far and thus, must win the game in order to ensure qualification. Otherwise they will need results from other matches to go in their favor.
Lahore Qalandars for once are in red hot form and are third on leader board with eight points as of now. They have got two games left with one likely to be washed out. Hence, they need to beat Karachi Kings today in order to ensure direct qualification. Otherwise, they too will have to hope for results from other matches to go in their favor.
Karachi Kings have seven points from as many matches so far. A victory in all three will ensure that they get two opportunities to make it to final. Even two victories will work for them. However, anything less than that can see them go down before the next round.
Islamabad United & Quetta Gladiators
Both Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators have seven points from the nine matches that they have played so far. Hence, it is a must win situation for both franchises as one bad game from losing the race of the PSL 2020 qualifiers.
