Skipper Babar Azam in a recent interview expressed happiness over the presence of senior players in the #T20WC while Shahid Afridi backed the green shirts to win the prestigious ICC event.

Babar Azam Happy With The Presence of Senior Players In The #T20WC Squad

While expressing happiness over the presence of senior players in the squad Babar said, “All players who have been selected have performed in the domestic tournament [National T20 Cup]. The presence of senior players in the dressing room is very important and junior players should try to learn from them since they have a lot of experience. They’ve played enough World Cups and many leagues. There are seven to eight players in the squad who have played the World Cup and Champion’s Trophy together and that’s something which gives us confidence.”

While talking of the #PAKvIND game Pakistan’s captain across formats said, “The match between India and Pakistan is always a high-intensity match and there’s a lot of pressure. However, as a team, we will try to stay focused on cricket. The more calm we are the better it will be for us but we have to perform on the day.”

Shahid Afridi Back The Men In Green To Lift The Trophy

While referring to Pakistan’s World T20 victory in 2009 and while backing the green shirts prior to the ICC T20 world cup, 2021 former captain Shahid Afridi said, “We had that issue of the Sri Lanka attacks on our minds. The whole nation was disappointed and frustrated so that win was very much needed. The win gave the whole nation happiness and some unforgettable moments. This is Pakistan cricket for you, never ever a dull day. Pakistan can surprise any team in the world. Rule them out at your peril.”
