Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi have become talk of the town again following the LSA walkouts and statements given to the press by the former regarding the dismissal of the case. It all started when a day before the court hearing Ali Zafar tweeted this:
As committed by the actor, the very next day we had this video of Ali Zafar exploding the internet.
The video received much flak from all the quarters for his comments on Malala, after which the actor sent out a tweet to do the damage control.
Ali Zafar also shared his official statement and details of the case dismissal on his Twitter.
Since then Ali Zafar has appeared in different interviews to share his side of the story, one of which ended in the actor breaking down on national television while claiming innocence.
The video has divided Pakistanis into two groups with some wanting to believe Zafar’s version…
And others dismissing the whole crying scene as a stunt to gain sympathy…
So far, Meesha Shafi has not responded to Ali Zafar’s fresh wave of claims because of the gag order issued by the court. However, many have come out on Twitter in Meesha’s support with some even pointing out technical loopholes in the handling of the case.
No matter which side you’re on, the Meesha-Ali case has certainly brought home the need to make more stringent laws on sexual harassment that enable the survivors, instead of doing otherwise.
