The Heroes
2019 for most part was a dismal year for the men green. Their performance during the ICC world cup and during the tours to South Africa and Australia were pretty embarrassing to say the least.
Nevertheless, Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Abid Ali performed exceptionally well and against quality opponents. Therefore, the three of them deserve to go down as the heroes of Pakistan cricket during the year 2019.

The Scape Goats
Pakistan did not do too well throughout the year and so, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) deserves the blame for it on many fronts. Instead of accepting part of the blame however, following the ICC world cup, the board decided to put the entire blame first on head coach, Mickey Arthur and then on skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed. Therefore, the two of them have to be the biggest scapegoats that Pakistan cricket produced during the previous year.
The Villains
2019 turned out to be a pretty ordinary year for Yasir Shah who completely failed in nearly all games that he played. So, it is no surprise that the leg-spinner received considerable amount of criticism from different quarters.
Wahab Riaz and Mohd. Amir on the other hand weren’t far behind as media and fans alike came down very hard on the pacers for choosing not to play Test cricket at all.
Still, Pakistan’s new chief selector cum head coach i.e. Misbah-ul-Haq has to go down as the biggest villain that Pakistan cricket produced during 2019. The 45 year old made a number of blunders particularly as a chief selector that resulted in massive embarrassment for the green shirts. In the eyes of cricket fans Misbah then, for sure, is the most disliked individual in the country and hence, he has to be the chief villain of cricket in the country for the year 2019.
