Following Babar Azam’s resignation as Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Rizwan is expected to take over the key position until the ICC Champions Trophy next year. Pakistan has historically struggled in Australia, making the upcoming tour a tough assignment for the new skipper.

The likes of Iftikhar, Fakhar Zaman, Mohd. Amir, Imad Wasim, and Shadab Khan who were part of Pakistan’s last white-ball assignment, are likely to be dropped from Pakistan’s squad. Kamran Ghulam, Salman Ali Agha, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Mohd. Hasnain might be included in their place.
Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah were rested for the second #PakvsEng Test. However, all three are expected to return for the tour to Australia. The tour is expected to be of immense importance particularly for the out of form Shaheen Afridi. If he fails to deliver yet again, he might have to face wilderness for a considerable amount of time.
