2018 has been a happening year in Pakistan cricket. So, here is a look at Pakistani cricketers who broke world records during the calendar year that will end in nearly two weeks time.

Fakhar Zaman & Imam-ul-Haq
Openers Fakhar Zaman & Imam-ul-Haq featured in a record breaking 306 runs opening partnership during the fourth One Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, on July 20, 2018. The record was previously held by the Sri Lankan pair of Sanath Jayasuriya and Upal Thranga who had managed 286 runs against England during the year 2006.
Zaman during the partnership scored 210 runs and in the process also became the first Pakistani cricketer to register an ODI double hundred.

Babar Azam
On November 04, 2018 Babar Azam became the fastest ever to reach 1000 international runs at the T20 level. Babar managed the feat in only 26 innings. Hence, he broke the world record of India’s Virat Kohli who had consumed 27 innings to reach 1000 T20 international runs.

Yasir Shah
On December 06, 2018 only in his 33rd Test match, Pakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah broke an 82 year old world record to become the fastest ever to reach 200 Test wickets. The record was previously held by Australia’s Clarrie Grimmett who had managed to reach the mark in 36 Test matches.
Thanks for the wonderful statistics. You may like to add another record. Fakhar Zaman – fastest ever to 1,000 ODI runs in 18 innings in as many matches. Going past Viv Richards, Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Q D Lock & Babar Adam – all achieving in 21 innings.
