Pakistan beats South Africa to remain relevant in the CWC 2019 after a series of embarrassing defeats, especially against India, and this time around Pakistanis aren’t going overboard with celebrations. The news has brought home a lot of hope to the cricket crazy nation but at the same time, the flaws in the team performance are also being highlighted in order to keep the green shirts grounded and focused.
Here’s how Pakistanis are reacting to Pakistan’s another surprising feat.
Shahid Afridi and many others appreciated the team for securing a victory but also advised on improving the fielding.
Excellent performance Pakistan! The bowlers backed up Haris Sohail's brilliant batting effort. Hope the momentum will be sustained in the games ahead. BUT the fielding must improve so many dropped catches, can't be excused at all! #WeHaveWeWill
One final thought of the day; in a must win match, Pakistan dropped 5-6 catches yet ended up winning. Only Pakistan can do that. However, if Pak repeat this fielding effort against NZ, Pak’s not winning. Have to work on the fielding as much as possible during training.
Finally got the playing X1 right, still not satisfied with the batting order though, the fielding was awful but still a much needed win against a very average South African side.
Finally, a win. Clinical, yet with a lot of learnings. With NZ, we have to be at our best fielding in addition to bowling and batting to have a chance of victory.

This guy here couldn’t help but call out the irony of Pakistani cricket fans!
People who bashed sarfraz few days ago are now asking him for autograph. People only love you in your good time. No one supports you in hard time.pic.twitter.com/UwNlChipsy
So surreal. Lords, Amir and “amir amir” chants. I cannot explain what I feel right now because probably I haven’t really forgotten 2010. What a comeback @iamamirofficial – huge stage & responsibility and very well done!
Mohammad Amir is now joint highest wicket-taker in the World Cup with Jofra Archer and Mitchell Starc. All 3 have 15 wickets, but Mohammad Amir has played one match less than Archer and Starc #CWC19
Haris Sohail’s SR today is the second highest by a Pakistan batsman batting at number 5 in World Cups (50+ score), highest= Imran Khan 56 off 33 vs Sri Lanka in 1983
What a sublime innings by Haris and that too in Lord's – the Home of Cricket. I'm sure this will be remembered by Haris Sohail, the Pakistani fans, and mostly by Shoaib Malik.
