A short film titled, Article 370 that highlights the plight of people living under siege in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) was released yesterday i.e. August 5, 2020. The venture explains the atrocities of the Narendra Modi led government in the disputed valley.
It is worth mentioning here that it has been a year since the Indian government revoked the special status of IoK. Pakistan yesterday then, observed Youm-e-Istehsal to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir on one hand and to protest against the illegal move from the Indian government on the other.
Directed by Ibrahim Baloch, short film Article 370 features Mariyam Nafees, Ghazala Kaifee, Abdul Muqeet Khan & Arib.
The film is about a married Kashmiri woman whose life is shattered after the administration in New Delhi repeals Article 370 and places the entire occupied valley in a curfew like lock down.
Mariyam Nafees, who played the lead role, stated that the story deeply inspired her as it depicted reality while illustrating how the residents of IoK suffer on a daily basis.
She said, “The twenty-minute visuals in the movie that show the suffering of a family in the region are full of human emotions. Projects like these are not undertaken too often.”
The short-film narrates the story of Gul-e-Rana who is awaiting the birth of her child in the middle of the inhumane lock down during which her husband also goes missing.
