A List Of Mickey Arthur’s Favorite Boys Who Must Not Play The Third T20

Not for the first time Pakistan’s head coach is under fire for playing his favorite boys. Hence, here is a look at a list of Mickey Arthur’s favorite boys who must not play the third T20 against South Africa so that the green caps are able to avoid a whitewash.

Asif Ali

On enough is enough basis, Asif Ali needs to be discarded. The middle order batsman has failed so many times by now that you really expect him to get out early, every time he walks out to bat. Selecting him ahead of Mohd. Hafeez in the playing eleven (especially, with no concern on professor’s fitness announced publicly) during the first two T20s made no sense whatsoever.

Usman Shinwari

Shinwari has a knack of picking wickets but he is also vulnerable to giving away loads of runs on a bad day. He is anyway, still not as effective and efficient as Mohd. Amir at the T20 level. Hence, not playing Amir in both T20s was a huge mistake on part of Pakistan’s think tank that of course, includes Mickey Arthur as well.

Faheem Ashraf

Faheem Ashraf played the first T20 and always was neither spectacular with the ball nor with the bat. He was eventually, dropped in favor of Shaheen Afridi. For Pakistan’s sake let’s just hope that Mickey allows it to stay that way and doesn’t bring Faheem Ashraf back because frankly, he needs to be dropped for a season or two. There is very little point playing him unless he is able to either establish himself as an all-rounder or at least master his bowling ability in a manner where he deserves to replace one of the specialists in the side.

Fakhar Zaman

To be fair Fakhar Zaman has delivered on a number of occasions and by now has proved himself to be a match winner. Nevertheless, he is seriously out of form for a while and is certainly better off taking a short break from the game. Mickey however, seems bent upon playing him; something that is hurting Fakhar’s confidence for sure. So, for Pakistan and Fakhar’s sake let’s just hope that Shahibzada Farhan is given an opportunity to make his mark when the green shirts meet the Protease again tomorrow, for the final encounter of the 3 match series.
