The green shirts were able to claim victory in their first side game in England by a margin of 100 runs. So, here is a look at a few talking points after Pakistan win their tour game against Kent.
Imad Makes A Strong Statement
Pakistan faced a similar batting collapse when they were 164 for 5 after 27.3 overs. Imad Wasim however, played brilliantly to register 117 not out of 78 balls and hence, featured in a match winning partnership with Haris Sohail who managed 75 of 71 balls. Therefore, it is just fair to say that Imad has managed to make a strong statement with regard to his fitness and batting form early in the tour.
Sarfraz And Malik Struggle For Form Again
Sarfraz Ahmed while batting at number 5 and Shoaib Malik while batting at number 6 could only score 10 and 4 runs respectively. Thus, it is only obvious that both of them are yet to find form. This without a shadow of doubt then, will be a worrying sign for the entire dressing room.
Let Go Of Yasir Shah Please!
Yasir Shah took 3 wickets for 90 runs in 10 overs against a county side that was below par owing to injury concerns. Therefore, Yasir’s ODI performance particularly, during the last 2 months or so quite evidently shows that Pakistan is making a mistake by banking on him in Shadab Khan’s absence. Mickey and company for sure, will be better served while either replacing Shadab (if he is unable to regain full fitness) with Mohd. Amir or Mohd. Nawaz. Usama Mir or Umer Khan can too be considered if the green caps really want to think outside the box.
