Rumours in media suggest that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sidelined both Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillispie from decisions relating to team selection. This development, following Aaqib Javed’s inclusion in the selection committee, has reportedly left the foreign coaches disappointed. Although Kirsten is yet to make a public statement, this may be the reason behind his decision to step down.

It is good that Sarfraz Ahmed came back and performed well, but it doesn't happen like that, that you play two Tests and shake the whole system," he told Geo News in an exclusive interview. The wicketkeeper-batter, who made his return to the national Test side after almost four years, smashed 355 runs in four innings against New Zealand. "There is no Test in eight months. All this is being done based on agenda and propaganda. It is indeed a challenge to take all three formats together, as it is difficult for the coaches and the captain," said AAqib, the head coach of PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars, Naseem Shah Zaman Khan, #PakvsEng Multan, #GaryKirsten #PakistanCricket

Pakistan’s red-ball coach, Jason Gillespie, appears to be the natural successor for the role. However, given reports that he too is dissatisfied with being sidelined from the selection committee, his resignation may also follow. This leaves Aaqib Javed as a strong contender to take over the position.

Notably, Aaqib recently resigned from Lahore Qalandars, where he served as the franchise’s Director of Cricket Operations and Head Coach for the past eight years.
